In order to register for Online EMDR Therapy Training, a participant will agree to have the minimum hardware and software prepared and available..
- An electronic office for online psychotherapy that is functional and secure. Each participant will be responsible to protect the confidentiality of their own training environment from noise, interference and outsiders hearing or viewing any aspect of the EMDR training.
- The computer or tablet should be powerful enough to support professional needs including webcam, headphones/speakers, microphone and internal or external file storages. A Chromebook will not work for the training, because it is not Zoom compliant.
- The computer or tablet should also have or be connected to a screen of adequate size for viewing as the EMDR Therapist as well as the EMDR Client. The screen size (no less than 10 inches) should allow for full breadth of eye movements across the central plane of vision from left to right.
- The computer or tablet will be password protected and have good anti-virus protection.
- The computer or tablet will have a fast connection to a reliable Internet Service Provider. A hardwired connection to the modem is preferred over a wireless network connection. All internal and external network connections will be secure, and password protected.
- The participant will also have a smart phone with headphones or earpiece available for dealing with any issues that occur with technical problems or client emergencies.
- EMDR Training Center, LLC maintains a HIPPA Compliant Business Associates Agreement with Zoom (https://zoom.us/). In order to provide security and to attempt to establish the maximum possible environment of confidentiality, all internet based EMDR training interactions will take place via Zoom. The participant will download and install the Zoom application on the computer. In addition, the Zoom application will be installed and tested on the phone.
- The participant will practice video/audio conferencing with Zoom, in order to become as comfortable as possible with the technology.
